Making the right choice for ME - the student voice

Wednesday 10th February saw LIFT OFF particpating in a conference organised by the AQMeN group exploring issues surrounding university retention amongst students from socially disadvantaged backgrounds.

We were so pleased that our fabulous student volunteer Tiffany, who took part in LIFT OFF when she was at school, agreed to come and speak at the event.

Tiffany spoke passionately about the pressure she was under from adults in her life to choose a university course when she knew that college was the right option for her at the time. She explained that young people need support and guidance when deciding on future courses, and not to feel pushed towards something they are not ready for.

You can hear Tiffany's speech on the AQMeN Youtube channel (starting a 52:17)
